Adjusted by Squ@dMP

All credits go to willjo who posted tabs # 2 and 3
I just wanted to correct some parts of the solo and
inside the tab just so that it sounds as close as possible
to the real song.

First of all this song DOES include bass, and it has 2 guitars in the solo,
while in live versions there is only one guitar but this tab is intended
to reproduce the original studio recorded version.

Intro (this is possibly bass in the recorded song so try light palm muting in this section)
e-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G-----------------------------(repeat 8 times)
D-----------------------------
A-7-7-10-7--------------------
E-----------10-8-7------------

Pre chorus:
e-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G-----------------------------
D-5-------7-------------------
A-5--8x---7--8x---------------
E-3-------5-------------------

Chorus: (Cool strumming with light distortion)

D-9--9--12--9--7--5--7--5---4-

E-----------------------------
repeat this twice

Play this after chorus again

Alexander August 6, 2003, 0:56

Hey wtf, you got that one wrong, this tab is really cool, you can avoid palm mute by playing 12-15-12-10-8-7, anyway, Squ@dMP did some great adjustments, good work man!

Aaron September 6, 2003, 5:43

hey you dumb fuck thats not how you play it its 0-0-3-0 on the 2 string then it goes to the top 3-1-0 then after you play that a bunch you go to top string 8-8-12-8-7-5-4
8-8-12-8-7-5-7-5-4-2 then you start over again

1) WTF, your comment is pointless, as "7 7 10 7 5 3 2 on a" is exactly the same as what he has written in the tab. Whats simpler, flying up and down the neck, or playing a scale?

2) This Sucks - I haven't tried your tab yetbut it looks like it could be played with a slide. I'm not sure if he plays with one in the recorded version, but I seen him playing with one in the grammies.

3) Tab Author - Your tab is excellent. There is more then enough information here for someone to learn this song.

SOme people might say there is a wrong way to play it, but there's no sich thing. Note are notes, no matter where they are played.

Keep up the good work.

slash is cool July 12, 2005, 22:20

You guys are idiots. The intro and
verse riff is played like this
G-------0-----------
D--2--2---2--0------
A----------------3-2
Jack white just uses a sub octiver to
make it sound like a bass
