Sos its probably actually about 90% right because you need to repeat guitar 2 (and there other bits only a few!)its practicly right just listen to the song to add the minor extras!!

willjo April 23, 2003, 11:11

This is actually the intro and the othere bits that are like that:

e-----------------
B-----------------
G-----------------
D-----------------
A-----------------
E-7-7-10-7-5-3-2--

willjo April 23, 2003, 12:50

Ive updated it and uploaded a new tab as 7 nation army (3)

soweareaboy April 30, 2003, 18:19

Actually, this tab is pretty much 100% accurate to the recording. The only difference is the opening riff is played by a bass guitar. Yay! for the Stripes adding more insturments!

bob May 2, 2003, 20:06

actually its an electric guitar with an octave pedal

crazyB May 10, 2003, 22:59

This is awesome...i love the song and wanted to know how to play it for a while. THANKS!

john May 12, 2003, 6:01

uh there is no bass in the white stripes

Kenny May 13, 2003, 5:02

This tab is awesome. The rest of you suck. There is only 2 things, of which one I am sure you, Mr Wonderous Tabber already know. The solo is with a slide, which is kind of hard, but gets oh so easy in a jiffy. Thats what I think you know. Also, Jack White, after the second version of the guitar riff( mocking the octave pedal bass riff ), he plays all of the open strings. So say this part ends:

e-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G-9--9--12--9--7--5--7--5---4-
D-9--9--12--9--7--5--7--5---4-
A-7--7--10--7--5--3--5--3---2-
E-----------------------------

right at the end of that, you add either this:

e--0---------------12-----
B--0---------------12-----
G--0-----or-this:--12-----
D--0---------------12-----
A--0---------------12-----
E--0---------------12-----

The second being a harmonic on the twelfth fret, which is harder to do, and I don't think he does it, by looking at the video. These would both be done with an upward strum. This is a cool song, and I hope you benifitted from my addition. But you rock, my dear sir, and anyone to say this tab is not well done should be shot ! Good day !

Ben May 14, 2003, 15:31

Actually, it is a bass--they said so in Rolling ZStone magazine--so you are an idiot if you think they didn't record with a bass--check out my band at www.angelfire.com/rebellion/thesecondhand

Trashy June 13, 2003, 15:50

they do use bass the guy in the band pre recorded it with bass but when he plass live he uses guitar. i also belive that for the chorus you would style bar like so
e--7--7--10--7--5--3--2--
B--7--7--10--7--5--3--2--
G--8--8--11--8--6--4--3--
D--9--9--12--9--7--5--4--
A--9--9--12--9--7--5--4--
E--7--7--10--7--5--3--2--

but only hit ing the high notes when played...

my complements to the chef!

signed: Trashy

To Ben June 14, 2003, 4:08

Dude, can you read? Are you illiterate? Or is it just ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE SUCKS! Dude, ever watch the White stripes perform on Late Night with Conan O'Brian?? NO BASS buddy...

sayin the guy that wrote to ben is dumb June 18, 2003, 4:23

be nice, u n r not that smart urself

Aaron June 18, 2003, 22:47

Um... yeah you guys are pretty stupid..
has anyone ever heard of an OCTAVE PEDAL??? thats what jack white is using to create those noises, and im not trained in juliard but its def. not a bass in the intro or throughout the song..

Twist3d June 24, 2003, 23:38

Not bad man nice tab
sounds pretty good

deigo June 29, 2003, 18:44

you didnt put the whole solo down your missing like a lot of it

dylan July 8, 2003, 5:29

jack white did play a bass on one nation army ,but uses a octive pedal when he preforms live.

Jimmy Page July 10, 2003, 19:55

try this nice job though your missing some of the what could be solo part but here
E--5--5-8-5-3-1--0

perry July 11, 2003, 7:36

just a suggestion, try PALM MUTING the intro

chris August 17, 2003, 23:03

this is pretty accurate

Steve August 18, 2003, 4:18

Rolling Stone magazine is wrong, it IS an electric guitar with an suboctave pedal. There are wet (synthesized lower octave notes) and dry (unaffected) signals, and Jack simply turned dry all the way down and wet all the way up, making a thuddy sound like a bass. You could have figured that out from reading Guitar World magazine.

Macs September 21, 2003, 14:05

Good as job close enough for me keep up the good work mate!

MTV November 7, 2003, 9:49

Yeah, he uses a sub-octave pedal. No doubt about it. Take a look at some of his gigs. Where does he have time to change guitars? Are u stupid or what?

setro cadim rehnavi December 21, 2003, 3:57

To all of us, who we not have a suboctave pedal, its, usefull to drop the 6th string to B
then:
B--5-8-5-3-1-0-
thanks have fun

weedz December 25, 2003, 22:37

yo, why do you all have to argue over the bass/guitar issue? who cares, as long as the tab sounds fine...and if you dont like it, then figure out a different way to play it that sounds better to YOU. quit wasting your breath bitchin over shit. good work on the tab, man, peace.

John January 28, 2004, 19:22

this tab is great except the main part that everyone knows is all done on one string. that's the way he plays it

future pilot February 19, 2004, 2:05

The original recording of this song WAS played with a bass. As stated by someone else above, the bass part was recorded at a different time and place, then mixed with the white strips. it was NOT originally played with a octave pedal. I've heard this from two sources, the radio and Rolling Stone. That's final.

future pilot February 19, 2004, 2:09

And to Steve above, Did they actually say that was how it was played, or did you just guess?

mark February 22, 2004, 15:38

just put the right one on so my band and i can play it.

sean (16) March 2, 2004, 22:43

Lane May 4, 2004, 3:58

This song rocks, it is the most easy song to learn and play on the guitar, give it a try, you will love it

Ian Rogers May 13, 2004, 2:03

Barry V told me they used a Bass guitar on the recording, Andy mixed it on decks, peace
