"WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO"
by Wham!

Transposed by MikeJJ, contact: mikejjack@optusnet.com.au

This was worked out purely as an act of brotherly goodwill for my 80's
loving sister. Let me make it clear that I am not the owner of any
Wham tapes (no CDs back then), nor do I dress in all white.

It is actually quite a nice song if slowed down and played on acoustic
with a little more feeling than the original. Get the little melody riff
happening (see down below for some TAB) - it's sickly sweet. I prefer to
sing "wake me up before you go-girl" as 'go-go' is far too 80's for me.

Capo @ 4th (only because that's the lowest I can sing "boom-boom" while
still struggling to squeal the "up" in the chorus).

In 4/4 time.

INTRO: (Slightly muted)

VERSE:

            C Am
You put the boom...
            F Am - G
You send my soul...
C Am
Jitterbug...
       F Am - G
Goes a bang...
    F
But some..
Am
Something...
   F C - G
My best...
F Am
Left me...
F G (slide F barre shape to the 3rd fret)
I was dreaming...

CHORUS:

           C Am
Wake me..
           F C
Don't..
           C Am
Wake me...
                F G (open G)
I don't want..
           C Am
Wake me...
                F C
'Cause I'm...
           C Am
Wake me...
F G C
Take me...
Am Am (sing down for "high")
I wanna hit...

SECOND VERSE, JUST LIKE THE FIRST, ETC...

You push the grey...

TAB of MELODY:

You'll get the hang of the rhythm. Sorry it's so condensed.
The '|'next to chord names = where the bar starts. Add
whatever frills you want in the chorus section. (I find
throwing in the hammer on in the the C bar is enough amongst
the chorus chords.)

          | C |Am |F |C - G
e|-----------0-1-----------------0-3-0--1-0---0-0-0-0-0--3-3-3-3--|
b|-----------1----------1--1-1-1-1-1-1--1---3-1-1-1-1-1--0-0-0-0--|
G|--0-2-0----0--------0-2--2-2-2--------2-----0-0-0---0--0-0-0-0--|
D|-----------2---0-h2---2--2-2-2--------3---------2---2--0-----0--|
A|---------3-3------------------------------------3---3--2--------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------3--------|

Finally --> place your bets for the year that this is brought back
as a cover on someone's album. Surely its time is approaching.
Enjoy the smile this crazy submission puts on your face. MJJ
