this is how I remember it:
Here is the real intro to Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison:

-------------------------|-2-------------------------------
-------------------------|-3-------------------------------
The chords for the verse are G C G D7
after "my brown eyed girl" it goes G Em C D7 G
then
D7

---------------------------|
-/11-11---9---7---5--------|
---------------------------|
---------------------------|

end the song with D7 G C
I don't own a copy of this song, but I think this is closer than the
previous repost of tab

P.S. the editor screwed up the chord placement above the tab;
each chord starts at the beginning of each measure

I've played this tune for a long time, but it would take me a long time to
write the tab for it, since I haven't really written or used tab much. I
play the tune with first-position chords, just like a typical song book,
and you should be able to find the melody under those chord shapes pretty
readily, at least in A. Here's the tab for the intro and the chord
progression for the tune:
Intro for Brown-Eyed Girl (Van Morrison) tab by Sam Hokin

Well since people keep sending corrections, I will incorporate them and
post a complete version. Thanks to all you who keep sending those
corrections. I played it this way and it sounded pretty good.
Please note that this is not all my work but rather various contributions
from people in the group. I take no credit and don't want any.

there are 2 guitars in the recorded version. My band wants to cover it but we want to know what the fill is that is constantly being played by the lead guitar in the background. does anyone havew any idea?
thanks denny
I would like to know the background solo played by the lead throughout the song. If anyone has it please post it. Thanks.
MEEEEE TOOOOOOOOO
The same as mike what is the tab of the guitar playing during the other parts.
its funny guitarists think alike. the background lead is what ive never been able to find and never really been motivated enough to figure out by myself. any help would be appreciated.
I have the entire song, chords with the lead in the back ground, problem is its in standard notation and i dont feel like putting it into tabs. if any1 wants to give it a go, E~Mail me
(rfuilrez@hotmail.com) and ill scan it and send it to ya
I just learned the entire lead guitar to cover this song. It is a real pain as it is a whole bunch of double stops mostly on the 4th and 6th string going up and down the neck (with a silent 5th string in between). Sounds great when played correctly. Unfortunately I have never written tabs before.
dont you think it would sound better if you played G instead of A, C instead of D and D instead of F#M
The solo goes like this played on the bottom 2 strings starting second one up,(a)string then (e) string, then (a) string:
10 12 14 12 10
10 12 14 12 10
10 12 14 12 10 9 9 10 12
don't use that cord progression, use
G C G D
then there is a few Em in the before he says "you my brown-eyed girl"
once you know the intro chord shapes you should be able to freestyle through the rest of the song, that's all the lead is, why play the lead exactly like it is on the song, come up with a melody on your own and feel like a much more accomplished musician...ciao baby
I don't know which version you're listening to. The intro doesn't continue up like you guys are all posting. Here's what I put together; take it as you will. BTW, there's one lead guitar, plus a background strumming guitar, an organ, bass, and drum. No second lead guitar.

Hey…
This comment thing sucks. The G chord and strumming start when you slide down to the G on the high e string. Not at the open G6.
dude...are you tone deaf John? learn to play the guitar....that tab correction is grossly wrong
ive looked everywhere for these tabs. these are the only good ones ive seen yet! keep on rockn'
