I've played this tune for a long time, but it would take me a long time to 
write the tab for it, since I haven't really written or used tab much.  I 
play the tune with first-position chords, just like a typical song book, 
and you should be able to find the melody under those chord shapes pretty 
readily, at least in A.  Here's the tab for the intro and the chord 
progression for the tune:

there are 2 guitars in the recorded version. My band wants to cover it but we want to know what the fill is that is constantly being played by the lead guitar in the background. does anyone havew any idea?

I just learned the entire lead guitar to cover this song. It is a real pain as it is a whole bunch of double stops mostly on the 4th and 6th string going up and down the neck (with a silent 5th string in between). Sounds great when played correctly. Unfortunately I have never written tabs before.

once you know the intro chord shapes you should be able to freestyle through the rest of the song, that's all the lead is, why play the lead exactly like it is on the song, come up with a melody on your own and feel like a much more accomplished musician...ciao baby

I don't know which version you're listening to. The intro doesn't continue up like you guys are all posting. Here's what I put together; take it as you will. BTW, there's one lead guitar, plus a background strumming guitar, an organ, bass, and drum. No second lead guitar.

This comment thing sucks. The G chord and strumming start when you slide down to the G on the high e string. Not at the open G6.
