Close, but the verse should be: [Am][Em][D]
[Am][G][D] sounds sorta right if your just playing it yourself, but that's not how the song really goes. Really neither sounds right since the song uses piano in the verse with only 3 notes, so get a friend who plays piano and then come in on the chorus/interlude.
