sorry man but i think bob's sounds more right than yours! thanks anyways!
Bob, you are wrong. Your fingering is correct, but the chords are wrong.
This tab is perfect.
boys, try bobs tab with capo on third fret
Hey All,
Bob's right, try it with a capo on the 2nd fret and play natural, Its D, Dsus4, Dsus4, D, A
HI. Sorry Jim Ravagno, but you must play with a capo on the third fret, then it's right!
Flo..
Your right my mistake.
I downloaded the song and tried it......3rd fret with capo.
This tab is way off.
I Disagree with all of you... the chords are right but the pitch is off. These are exactly what the bass plays. But if you listen you'll realize the guitar is playing an F on the 5th fret (X87565)
and so on. The chords are right, they're in the right key... which, by the way, happens to not have an f#, which if you understand key signiture, means D major IS NOT IN THIS SONG. Furthermore I don't apreciate the fact that many of you will copy other peoples tabs and post them as your own (especially if its mine) when you obviously never took the time to turn the song on and listen for mistakes. --K.C.
I have to disagree with this tab based on how I saw T.P.s band playing it on "Sat. Night Live".(the only time I ever saw Tom Petty)
The way the band played live, it was played with two guitars, as follows:
Guitar one playes:
--8-------------8--8--
--10--11----11--10-8--
--10--10----10--10-9--
--10--8-----8---10-10-
--8---8-----8---8--10-
-------------------8--
And guitar two playes:
--1---1-----1---1--3---
--1---3-----3---1--5---
--2---3-----3---2--5---
--3---3-----3---3--5---
--3---1-----1---3--3---
--1---------1----------
Give it a try and let me know if it sounds good.
