Beer Run By: Todd Snider Tabbed By: Andy Behlen E-Mail: old_dancehall_dreamer@hotmail.com This is my first attempt at tabbing a song, but i think its right. I just kinda flatpick it w/ alternating base notes, on last line in the verses just strum and e hard on each sylable of the words. Snider walks the chord progresion a lot so you can try that too, but its kinda hard in this key. A B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run A E B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run A All we need is a tent and a fire D bird car and a key and an sober driver A E A B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run A A couple of frat guys from abline D drove right on out to see robert earl keen A paid big swine and swore they'd dance E wore baseball caps and khaki pants A no cigarettes, so to save a little money F#m they bumed one off a hippie that smelt kinda funny D next thing they knew they was both really hungry E and pretty thirsty too B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run All we need is a tent and a fire bird car and a key and an able driver B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run found a store sign said the beer was the coldest so they sent in brad cause he looked the oldest bought a case of beer and a candy bar walked over to the counter where the registers are laid his fake id on the counter top clerk looked and turned looked back and stoped said boy i aint gonna call the cops but i am gonna keep your card the fellas took it pretty hard B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run oh how happy we would be if we had brought a better fake id B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run they met another old hippie named sleepy john claimed to be the one from the robert earl song so they gave him some cash and he bought em some brews it was a beautiful day out in santa cruz felt so good it sould have been a crime the crowd was cool the band was primed they made it up to their seats just in time to sing with all their friends the road goes on forever and the party never ends B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run All we need is a tent and a fire bird car and a key and an able driver B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run i said B-double-E-double-R-U-N Beer Run

A little more accurate lyrics...
B double E double R-U-N; beer run.
B double E double R-U-N; beer run.
All we need is a ten and a fiver,
a car and a key and a sober driver.
B double E double R-U-N; beer run.
A couple a frat boys from Abilene
drove all night to see Robert Earl Keen
at the KPIG Swine and Soiree Dance.
They wore baseball caps and khaki pants.
They wanted cigarettes and so to save some money,
they bummed one off a hippie that smelled kinda funny;
next thing they knew they were both really hungry
and pretty thirsty too...
(chorus)
They found a store with a sign said their beer was the coldest.
They sent in Brad cause he looked the oldest.
He got a case of beer and a candy bar,
walked over to where them registers are,
laid his fake id on the countertop.
The clerk looked and turned, and looked back and stopped.
He said "Boy, I ain't callin' the cops,
but I am keepin' this card."
The guys both took it hard...
B double E double R-U-N; beer run.
B double E double R-U-N; beer run.
Oh how happy we would be
if we'd only brought a better fake ID
on a B double E double R-U-N; beer run.
They met this other old hippie named Sleepy John;
claimed to be the one from the Robert Earl Keen song,
so they gave him some cash and he bought 'em some brews.
It was a beautiful day out in Santa Cruz.
They wuz feelin' so good it shoulda been a crime;
the crowd was cool and the band was prime.
They made it back to their seats just in time
to sing with all their friends
"The road goes on forever and the party never ends..."
(original chorus)
Just wanted to let you know you got the words wrong. It's "All we need is a ten and a fiver" as in money. Fifteen dollars :). Have a good day!
Oh, and there's nothing about a bird. I assume that came from the fire...bird.
It's Robert Earl King. Take a music appreciation class. Otherwise, decent tab.
Hey Snobby Steve! A simple google search will show you that Robert Earl KEEN is the artist of credit for the Robert Earl KING Band. So everybody's right.
hey guy I dont know what you are talking about, there is no Robert Earl "KING" band. It is Robert Earl Keen and the Robert Earl Keen band....I am from Texas I know, you are all idiots
Dont under stand what all the hullabuloo is about.But I lived in Tx for 8 years and I know that Robert Earl King's Band was Robert earl KEEN.So mabe just a little more appreciation should be involved. SIGNED: Alabama Redneck!
This tab needs more more. The words are wrong and the chords are too. But it was a good first attempt. You can only go up from here.
Does it really fuckin mattr what the song says its still funny
If you people can't honesty pick up on the lyrics you all must be retarded, this IS the correct way dumb shits
