Rest of My Life – Sloan

Tabbed by Adam Bishop

There seems to be at least two guitars here, playing the same chords
but sometimes at different places (but only for E, B, and A).

E – x7999x and 022100
B – 799877 and x2444x
A – 577655 and x02220
F#m – 244222
G# - 466544
C#m – x4665x

Also, whenever the G#-C#m-B-A is played, there is a third,
much more distorted guitar playing their root notes.

Oh, and sorry about some of the lyrics, but they aren't posted on
Sloan's website yet, and I am notoriously bad at figuring them out.

(Intro riff)
    F#m
E|-----------2--
B|--------2-----
G|-----2--------
D|--4-----------
A|--------------
E|--------------

E

                             B
I started thinking about the rest of my life
  A E B
I found my selfish looking out for trouble and strife (?)
E B
Someone with whom I’d spent the rest of my days
    F#m G#
But if I ever said I wasn’t set in my ways

            C#m B A
Well then I guess you caught me lying to myself
G# C#m B A
What kind of fool doesn’t think about it
G# C#m B A
What kind of fool doesn’t think about it
      G# C#m B A
You’d have to be a fool not to think about it

   E B
Am I gonna settle down am I gonna be
                            F#m G#
Someone who has to take the rest of my life to slow down
      C#m B A
And I guess you caught me lying to myself
F#m E
You’ll make a man out of me

                           B
One thing I know about the rest of my life
  C#m B A E
I know that I’ll be living it in Canada
                                      B
I know I said I’d show the rest of my days (?)
    C#m B F#m
But I was only going through a phase

   E B
Am I gonna settle down am I gonna be
                            F#m G#
Someone who has to take the rest of my life to slow down
      C#m B A
And I guess you caught me lying to myself
G# C#m B A
What kind of fool doesn’t think about it
G# C#m B A
What kind of fool doesn’t think about it
      G# C#m B A
You’d have to be a fool not to think about it

   E B
Am I gonna settle down am I gonna be
                            F#m (with intro riff)
Someone who has to take the rest of my life

   E B
Am I gonna settle down am I gonna be
                            F#m G#
Someone who has to take the rest of my life to slow down
      C#m B E
And I guess you caught me lying to myself
                                  B
Am I gonna settle down am I gonna be
                            F#m G#
Someone who has to take the rest of my life to slow down
      C#m B E
And I guess you caught me lying to myself

(End on E)

I just wanted to tell ya that the intro riff is just missing something:

E|-----------2-0-
B|--------2------
G|-----2---------
D|--4------------
A|---------------
E|---------------

but otherwise awesome job!
