Jessie's Girl
by Rick Springfield, from the album "Working Class Dog"
lead sheet by Bob Brockman, (brockman@udayton.edu), re-formatted with minor changes by John Crooks
Notes
Bob Brockman originally transposed this song to C to make it easier to play with open chords, but here the song is notated in D, the key of the original recording.

For the pre-chorus, play a D chord against the notated chords if you have a second guitar.

For the chorus, use the following chord shapes:

    A D A Bm Asus4 Bm Asus4
   |1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & |1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & |
  e|------------------------|------------------------|
  B|---7-----7-----7--------|------------------------|
  G|---7-----7-----7--------|7-----7-----7-----7-----|
  D|7--7-----7-----7-----7--|9-----7-----9-----7-----|
  A|7--5-----5-----5-----7--|9-----7-----9-----7-----|
  E|5--------------------5--|7-----------------------|

For the first twelve bars of the bridge, one guitar plays the chords indicated while everybody else stays at G. For these twelve bars, you might use the following chord shapes:

    G D A
   |1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & |1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & |
  e|7-----------10-------9--|------------------------|
  B|8-----------10-------10-|------------------------|
  G|7-----------11-------9--|------------------------|
  D|------------------------|------------------------|
  A|------------------------|------------------------|
  E|------------------------|------------------------|

There doesn't seem to be a reason to change,
You know I feel so dirty when they start talking cute,
I want to tell her that I love her but the point is probably moot.
