REM - We Walk (Murmur)

Transcribed by Jason Crease (jnc27@cam.ac.uk)

This is best played with a capo at the 5th fret and the guitar tuned up
1/4
step.  Tuning up is best done tuning the 3rd string with the capo on
while
listening to the song and then tuning the rest of the strings from the
3rd
string.

Peter probably doesn't use a capo, but it sounds exactly the same using
one,
and it makes certain bits easier (such as the Bm bit).

The frets and chords are given as if the capo is on fret 0.
It is in 6/8 time.
It sounds like Peter uses a plectrum but I prefer fingers (it's a lot
easier).

u = upstroke
d = downstroke
p = pull off

Mute the first chord in each bar immediately after strumming it.

Verse:

This phrase repeats for the whole verse:

 G            Em
|-------------|------------|
|-------0-----|------0-----|
|----0----0---|----0---0---|
|--0--------0-|--2-------2-|
|-------------|------------|
|3----------s2|0-----------|

It sounds cool if you slide down from 3 to 2 on the 6th string during the
G bit.

Instead of a G+Em do this when moving between a verse and a chorus:

 Bm
|----------2-|--------|  (let all strings ring)
|--------3---|--------|
|------4-----|--------|
|----4-------|--------|
|--2---------|--------|
|2-----------|--------|

Chorus:

The guitar is the same as the intro:

still
like guitar 1.  Guitar 2's frets are shown as with no capo.
