for the Gadd9 and the Cadd9 the correct fingering is to keep it on the third fret of the B and E strings not the 3rd fret of the B string and 4th fret of the E string

Does anyone know the song theatre of the soul off the native tounge album and how to play it.

Jeremy March 15, 2003, 18:07

Nice job with this transcription. I just have one concern. The chords are obviously correct, but for some reason the pitch sounds as if it may be a little off when playing along with the cd. I have not been able to find anything to indicate that the guitar should be tuned down at all, but it seems to sound better if it is tuned down half a step or so.

retro active March 22, 2003, 16:52

tune a half step down

stevie September 5, 2003, 19:07

dave February 26, 2004, 2:42

Dylan March 13, 2004, 4:10

Guys its wrong...u know the g chord..put ur index and ur middle finger down one string from where they are..

Gruntfish April 17, 2004, 17:13

Dylan, drop the bong or the guitar because they are not working well as a pair.

The G chord is fingered correctly, you are wrong.

T.J. April 30, 2004, 1:28

guys i hate to be the one to tell yall this but yall are all wrong this song is tabbed in totally the wrong key you should capo the second fret and play a E instead of G a Asus2 instead of cadd9 and for the D u play a b and in the bridge u use a g# for the Em finnally somebody tabbed it in the right key though look at tab three if u don't think its right play it with the song and find out for yourself

chris August 21, 2004, 7:40

this is the first song i learnd with my guitar.

dan March 20, 2005, 4:29

here's the thing...the great thing about music is that there is so much variability in it. why does it have to be in the same key? its the same progression no matter where u start. and in case u never noticed it TJ, an added 9th and a suspended 2nd are the same thing. the strumming pattern...who cares!! play it however you want, make it your own. the great thing about this song in particular is the lyrics. the guitar is there to give the lyrics emotion, and that can be done in any key, with any rhythm. just play music and enjoy it, rather than worrying about doing it the same way as someone else. if you're worried about that, then it's no fun.

ryan January 5, 2006, 15:24

nicely put. and thanks for making this easy to cut/paste into word by putting the lyrics side by side rather than stretching it out further down the page.

josh August 31, 2006, 9:12

This is a good tab but this song is played a half a step down on the tuning good job tho
