NORAH JONES
TURN ME ON

This song is in Bb but I use a capo

(capo 3rd fret)

G C / G D

D G G7 C

Like a flower waiting to bloom like a

                          G

light bulb in a dark room I'm just sitting

     Em Am7 D

here waiting for you to come on home and

     G C /G D

turn me on

D G7 C

Like the desert waiting for the rain like

                                    G

a school kid waiting for the spring I'm

                  Em Am7

just sitting here waiting for you to

         D G C/ G

come on home and turn me on

B7

In my poor heart it's been so dark

C G B7

since you've been gone after all you're

                          C

the one who turns me off but you're

                      D

the only one who can turn me back on

G G7 C

My hot fire's awaiting for a new tube my

glass is waiting for some fresh ice cubes

G Em Am7

I'm just sitting here waiting for you to

      D G C G

come on home and turn me on turn me on

I THINK THOSE LYRICS IN THE BRIDGE ARE " MY HI-FI IS WAITING FOR A NEW TUNE" I COULD BE WRONG

Rob is correct the line is "my hi-fi is wating for a new tune" for all you youngsters out there hi-fi is an old term for a stereo (you know that old cabinet at your grandparents'with a "record player" and possibly even an "eight track player" and a t.v.).
I don't know who wrote this song ,but given the blusey nature and tune I would guess it is older than Ms.Jones

This song was written by
J.D. Loudermilk. The words are My hifi is waiting for a new tune.

No the lyrics are correct..."my hot fire's awaiting for a new tune"

I am looking at the "Official" sheet music for Norah Jones and the words are: "My hot fire's a waiting for a new tube" . I have no idea what this means but those are the correct words :)
