Your'e supposed to play the intro melodi and rhythm at the same time FAST.

Now please give a suggestion to a way to do the banjo rolls on guitar!!!
Listen to the recording by Eric Weisberg (banjo) and Steve mandel (guitar) on
the album named "Duelling banjos" (also released as "New dimensions in banjo
and bluegrass")on Elektra(Eks 7238 vinyl).
Dueling banjos is not the fastest tune on the album!!
On eletric i play the banjo strum something like this( pick and fingers, tele
style) let all string ring as long as possible (indacated with ===)

Actually, each instrument plays G and C; downstroke, upstroke, downstroke on G, then downstroke on C, then Downstroke on G.
After both instruments do this, this is played by each:

pale rider,sorry to say but your both wrong and right.the chords sequence is correct,but the picking you have tabbed is wrong
I'll have to give this a try because I've always played this tune in the key of C. The notes were even in the C major scale (most of them). Of course I was only going on what somebody once showed me. Using the chords C, F, and G.
This song is done in A .
