I Could be wrong, but I remember it like this:

A E F#m D
Train roll on, many miles from my home
A E D
I'm riding my blues away

A G D
Tuesday's gone with the wind

So it's A E F#m D
and later A E D
          A G D

chord formations(all basic forms):

A -02220
E 022100
F#m 244222
D --0232
G 320003

and here is the intro (as far as I can tell and remember).
The bridge is the same with little variations.

It has been years since I last played this (or as a matter of fact even
listened to it), so the timing might be a little off. And besides I've
never been good with notes and notation.

If anybody is interested I could see if I can remember the bridge.
The same applies to the solo, although I'm not sure if I know (or knew)
the solo.

You'll have to excuse my (propably) unorthodox tabbing.
This is my first posting.

The last 5 notes might be played by keyboards on the recording.

Also the 12 notes before it are played differently in the middle of
the song:

b---------3-----------3-----------3-----------3---------------------------
g-------------------------------------------------------------------------
d-0-----------0-----------0-----------0-----------------------------------
a-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sean May 14, 2004, 19:06

usually lynyrd Skynyrd songs are played with a slide. but that is only one guitar part. there are 3 guitar parts in most of their songs. Anyway this song is not played with a slide. the effectual intro is actually played with bends.

take your prozak bottle out cut off the bottom boom u have a slide

thom July 23, 2006, 16:05

i take back my before mentioned comment, listed somewhere above, and i must apologize, for i just realized that the only instrument i myself can play is the skin flute, i think i need to practice more though, cause i cant play mine worth a shit, but when other peoples skin flutes are shoved down my throat, i get a perfect blues twang, i also play other peoples skin flutes in my ass, i seem to have perfected this technique, and specialize in large unlubricated skin flute playing, i find that the larger the flute combined with no lubrication, gives my playing a harsher rougher sound, and my vocals seem to mirror that, if anyone on the site needs me to show them how to play the skin flute, i give demonstations weekly across the country, and remember the first 500 in line get to see me play the skin flute quad section, thats 1 oral, 1 anal and 2 with my hands.

good luck

thom July 23, 2006, 16:13

P.S. eric has just instant messaged me and he has requested to make a special guest appearance and show how he has perfected the his specialty, the famous Rolling Quad Section, in which he plays for your viewing pleasure 4 simultaneous skin flutes, with skin flutes changing within seconds of climax, his record so far is 1867 continuous skin flutes each reaching a high pitch climax, he is hoping to break this record on our nationwide tour, but dont fret if you dont see the record broken, he has vowed to continue the tour until the record has been broken by at least 1000 skin flutes, Yeeeahhhh !!
