I had a few hours to kill and just bought a couple of CD's one
is The Money or The Gun's, Stairways to Heaven (which is where that rolf
harris version of this song came from) so I thought id fix up a
full version of stairway to heaven.
This as far as I can tell is the complete CD (the one remastered
by pagey) version of stairway to heaven. Id like to thank
mwelie@cs.vu.nl (Welie van M) for the first bit of the song and
sef@icbr.ufl.edu for the solo.

The two guitars continue into this section. Walloping (a technical term
meaning hit very hard &) the strings using the full barre sounds pretty
good. The lead basically follows the bass. You can do both (like you
can tweak the slide riff with one guitar)
I think i can probably tabascii the bass now, ive listened to it enough.
But ive had it for this song!! unless someone really needs it please dont
ask just yet.. Ive gotten transfixed by a few other zepplin tracks
that where on the album, their slower more melodic stuff like no quarter
down by the seaside etc..

Look you guys... The Guitar is absolutely one of the easiest instruments in the world(especially electric guitar), right next to piano, what with both of them belonging to the chromatic department. I've been playing piano for a while, and am just starting guitar...
I'd like to say, guitar is much harder in my opinion than piano (could just be cause I've been playing piano longer, but I mean that playing simple songs on piano is easy, whereas on guitar it takes a lot of effort, even on easy songs).
I don't know about other instrumnets, but I do know that it really dosen't matter how hard it is to play. It's as hard as the song you've got, and even tho piano is easy to play, playing the good songs requires a LOT of skill... and besides, some of the greatest songs of all time are written for piano (and guitar of course :)
So yeah they may be easier to pick up, but you can DO MORE with them, which is what is important anyways.
Oh, and GREAT tab, thanks a lot, and thanx to the explanation about the 12th (I think) bar, I was wondering why I couldn't get it to sound right... this is not an amazingly hard song, but it is definitely the hardest I've played til now, and is giving me a helluvan annoying time.

If you do want to watch Ghost in the shell, don't get the DVD, it sucks, the sound is all out of synch, also read Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, the book that became Bladerunner, the film is good but as in all cases the book is better.

There are alot of imature people out there. To clear everything up, Music in general is difficult to pick up, and even more difficult to master. It's obvious why there are not many masters not only of the guitar but of the piano and violin. We all need to have respect for people who take the time and effort to actually learn and perfect and to hone their musical abilities. And we can't talk bad about instruments like we know what we're talking about because most of the time, we don't.

Umm, well I haven't tried the tab yet, but it sounds pretty good from what everyone has been saying about it. It took me a little over 15 minutes to read all the crap here, but it has been quite a laugh! It's just a pity I'm never getting those precious minutes of my life back. I'm now going to start attempting the tab. Oh, what Lynyrd Skynyrd person said was almost true. Freebird is an absolutely amazing song, so try that if you are one of those fools thinking the guitar is easy. Or alternatively try it on the violin and see if you can get anything out of that...oh, hang what's that? I find it extremely outrageous that these arguements have gone on for so long. Unless I'm heavily mistaken, i believe the purpose of this site is to supply us guitarists with the tablature we need to become better musicians. some of you must not read the warning before posting.
as for the instrument part, i believe every instrument, in its own right, is a difficult instrument. and congrats to anyone who can master any one out there. i just happened to choose the guitar, because it is so easy to use in most any genre of music i listen to. some poeple may play violin, cuz they like the classical music. some may play saxophone, cuz they like jazz. or some may play percussion just for the plain fact that they like to hear noise(a friend of mine). whatever your instrument, i hope you have a hell of a good time with it.
as for stairway to heaven, i believe this tab is most excellent. there are just a couple rough spots, but i worked around them. i just started listening to led zeppelin a week ago, and i felt compelled to learn this song, cuz i've been asked to play it over and over again for 2 years now, so i figured why not?

Hey there, I would like to add without the intention of hurting either violin players or guitar players that this is not an open forum for the discussion of instruments, its for the discussion of Guitar or more specifically the quality or nessecary corrections to the tableture (which takes up less of the page than all these meaningless comments, even though it has been pastes twice) or objects related (The word Intruments includes Guitar and Violing and and every other intrument, whereas The word guitar means just Guitar, sorry to insult people's intelligence but it seems that some people, again without offense, really are quite thick). I am of the opinion that it is a slur on the tableture to be adding comments about anything other than the tableture, without a good reason, so I request that the moderator of this website please remove any material unrelated to the aforemention aspects of the tableture including this post and leave only the first few comments that meant anything and the ones that did so thereafter. This is just a suggestion because this is a really good tab site, but without the proper moderation, and a look at this page alone, it may discourage people to visit again

Alright people, I dont know if you realize this, but jimmy page never played stairway the same more then once. he always added little bits to it, so, just go by what you think sounds good enough. if you want all the little bits he added, then go listen to every live show he had. Peace.

hell yeah its worth learning to alternate pick. i agree its sort of stupid to play slipknot shit, but you can use it for different styles like blues. it saves you alot of muscle cause instead of going down come all the way back up and go down again, you just hit the string on down and up. try it on something like black dog or since i've been loving you
