ABERDEEN-
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
>From the album Ledbetter Heights
Written by Bukka White

Tabbed by Aaron Beyersdorff (all my own work)

Both parts are played with a slide. This song sounds really sweet
and when you realize how easy it is it's a lot of fun.
You really have to listen to it to get the rhythm, though.

Tune to an open E- low to high E-B-E-G#-B-E

For Riff 1, the G# string is pushed down with the index finger
and I play with the slide on my middle finger. Other than Riff 1
and then the similar part on Riff 4 there is no fingering, just
the slide.

The acoustic and electric parts are very similar. If you're determined
enough to learn both parts it's not hard to play around with and figure out.
This is actually kind of a mix of the two.
You just have to play around with it. But this is basically it.

/ = Slide from the nut
\ = Slide off to the nut
~ = Tremolo (just kind of slide it back and forth real fast)

Riff 1:

Electric entrance
5. Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 3- x1
6. Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 3- x1
   Riff 1- x2 Riff 4- x2 Riff 3- x1
7. Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 3- x1
8. Riff 1- x2 Riff 4- x2 Riff 3- x1
9. Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 1- x2 Riff 2- x1 Riff 5- x1

Like I said, this is only the acoustic part and if you're ambitious
enough to try the electric part it's not hard to figure out from
what I have here. I'm prety sure I have all the riff repetitions
right but don't hold me to them. There's a lot of repetition.
By the way, I don't have a slide so I use a piece of
copper pipe. Be resourceful!

awesome tab dude, but KWS isn't using
open E, it's open UP half a step, making it
open F:

low to high F-C-F-A-C-F

I remember in the music video for this
song, he used a MASSIVE acoustic, which
may have given it a deeper, lower
sounding tone.

One additional note, that Open F
tuning can be fatal to most necks, and
not great for your strings to be tuned
so high. I recomend tuning to open E
or open D and using a capo. I
personally use open D:
low to high: D-A-D-F#-A-D

and then capo at the 3rd fret, since I
use 11 gauge stings, I need much less
stress on the neck. Happy playing and
great tab Bukka White, truly great.
