Irish angel
(Basically like this)
E----7-----5-----3---3----5----7---3---5---7---5---3------323-----5--------7---8-7--5--3-
B------------------------------------------------------------2---------------------
G Em C G
In the fall, of the year. She flew across the ocean
G Em C D
To Ireland, the land of her fathers
G Em C G
When we said good bye, a tear was in her eye
G Em C D
I lost her then and there my Irish angel
The first letter came, she said she loved it there
And how much she wished I could be there with her
She wrote it on a hill, in the gentle irish rain
I saw her in my mind my irish angel
C D G Em
I wrote her back and then, there was no second letter
C G D
Just the silence of the storm that fell around me
G Em C G
I let her down I know, the day I let her go
G Em C D
Now she found someone else, my irish angel
The first time I saw her, my heart went in a spin
When they speak of love, they call it fallen
It was like I held my breath, untill I layed eyes on her again
Too beautiful she was my irish angel
When a stolen glance, led to a stolen kiss
I thought I knew the chance that I was taken
And though I've never known, a love as strong as this
Or what it was to fell my own heart breaking
So now I raise a glass and I raise another
One to forget, one to remember
Oh and one just to dream of how it used to be
If I hadn't lost my irish angel
As done by Mr. Jonny Lang

Great song, can you tell me which album it appears on. Thanks
to my knowledge....he never put it on an album..i dont know why though, it's a great song
How many recordings of the song as he did? I have one were it's a lots of audience and i hope that's not the only one..
-S :)
I have seen him live like 20 times and he plays the song alot, but he has never done a studio version and it has not appeared on a record. Jonny says his keyboard player Bruce McCabe wrote it and he loves it. (Bruce McCabe was in the awesome 80's band The Lamont Cranston Blues Band).
I saw him play it on Austin city limits! IT WAS AWESOME he also played "Get what you give" That was even better! His solo was UNBELIEVABLE
He plays this song live alot, but has never put it on disc. A shame!! Awesome song.
I just saw him play the song live last night--it was awesome! Best performance of the night. Makes sense, since I'm a big acoustic guitar fan & player. Bummed to find he hasn't recorded it.
He has recorded a versions without the audience, it's Johhny Lang and Chuck Prophet on Piano. Cheers!
