Satin Sheets
- Johnny Paycheck

Same title but different song from the 'Satin Sheets'
in the last newsletter.I have only ever heard this song
live by other artists so I'm not sure if the words are
exactly as the original. Maybe someone will let me know.
(John Weaver - joannas@pi.net)

G G7 Am
Now you once told me I was good for nothing
    C D7
You couldn't live on my dreams and crystal balls
G G7 Am
But his money couldn't buy you my loving
        C D7 G
So I guess I'm good for something after all

G Am
Slide off of your satin sheets
D D7 G Em
Slip down from your lonely street
                   Am
You know where to find my door
D D7 C Bm Am G
I know what you're cry, cry - ing for

You once told me I was good for nothing
You had to live in style in marble halls
But still with all of that you're not happy
So I guess I'm good for something after all

Slide off of your satin sheets
Slip down to my lonely street
You know where to find my door
You know what you're cry crying for

Here are the lyrics, based on Paycheck's original recording:

what a beautiful mansion he built you
splendor, lord you got it wall to wall
and yet with all of that you're still not happy
cause every time he's gone i get your call

* slide off of your satin sheets
slip in to your long soft mink
you know where to find my door
and I know what you're crying for

baby you once told me i was good for nothing
and you couldn't live on dreams and crystal balls
his money buys you everything but my loving
so i guess i'm good for something after all
