the tab is fine but it is a hell of a lot easier to play in drop-d.
Listen amatures!! The T stands for using your thumb, but it is much easier to play with your index finger in drop D. There are some things missing from this tab, but it is very close. If you really want the whole song and accurate just ask. I have several of his songs tabbed out correctly.
by the way... john with his comment callin people amatures... go figure, if johnny boy would get off of adlutbuffet.com and just watch a couple of john mayer videos, and perhaps listen to a couple of acoustic recordings of the song he would notice the john doesnt use his thumb in the song, although john is a big fan of using the thumb, he doesnt in the intro or the verse.... and yes, there is tap, just listen..... peace

I think the tab works. If everyone of the fuckstains who wasted space on this page shut their respective hole and just played the song however they can figure it out, there would be no need for all the pansy-ass internet fights.

From my experience as well as the information posted on this board it appears there are numerous ways to play this song. I have played it with a capo and in drop d, and both work. Frank and Pete rock and should focus the rest of their lives on adding the same ignorant disgusting mamma jokes and feces humor to all the tabsites on the internet!
I don't know what is the saddest! That i actually hit this tab by accident from my e-mail list or that i actually sat for 30 mins reading all your posts!

I personally think tabs are here as a guideline and great for helping all new and experienced players along. Much more fun to make the song your own anyway. Play it in Drop D, or Tap, or Standard tunning, or staple ur guitar to your arse......Just pull it off well and its all good!...great site!

The only ones who should be picky are those that plan on performing the song in front of thousands of people........*awkward silence*.........thats what i thought!!anyway...ive stumbled upon a song that was labelled john mayer, dave mathews - fine with me (live 3-29-02). its now my favorite song.......problem is, i cant find tabs for it, not even lyrics. As far as my knowledge serves me, neithe of them have a song like this.any info would be appreciated.
btw......drop D is when you tune your E (top string), down to a D note (use a tuner....and maybe a tuner how-to guide heh)
one last thing......for Abel.........a really good tip for a beginner guitar player is to never listen to internet arguements as a guide to your musical learning experience. Those who talk too much about how much they know, or how good they are on the guitar, are those who know the least....usually....rule of thumb. personally........i respect how much i DONT know, and that inspires me to learn more!!

The tab was good enough for me.If anyone has a problem stretching their finger to the 6th Fret try holding down the two tenth fretted strings with your pinky finger(it makes it easier to stretch your pointer). This tips for Joe as he said it hurt his finger...sorry mate
here is a simple version on a standard tuned guitar.
Intro and regular line goes:
E#-B#-A#-B# then ...if you want love...A#-B#(3x) then A#-B#-B#7 then back to 1st pattern.do Dm-C(bar chords) pause...for ...damn baby...then Dm-A#-B#-B#7-E# then repeat chorus.
