If you think this sound a little funny....It's because the base E string should be dropped to C. That's the only mistake I can find....other than that it's right on.

spencer May 5, 2003, 1:45

drop the low E string to a G

john m May 5, 2003, 23:38

it's easier to play by dropping the low E to a B
:)

B-Dub May 20, 2003, 0:10

Easier said than done, can any body break this technique down for us?

boby May 25, 2003, 14:03

how can he do that ?
it's incredible...

jknowsm July 3, 2003, 21:13

I can play this tab... et je suis seulement onze. which note should be E dropped to?

ljkjfr July 5, 2003, 12:39

hahahahah

mrbuck July 14, 2003, 23:02

like he said dropping the E to a B is a lot easier. I haven't even had to use my thumb at all just weird bar chords. I'm not going to go into it, but for the intro, the bar chords are on the 1st fret, then the 4, the 6th, and 9th, just sound it out.

mrbuck July 14, 2003, 23:09

oops and then a chord on the 11th fret

Lukeulavale September 29, 2003, 22:53

U can not play the song with a low B unless you play the song a half step lower. Because the song is played in C minor and the very first note john mayer plays is a low C. It would not make any sense to play the song in C minor if you had a B in the bass. hope I did not offend anybody. But it just common theory. If you are going to play a song in C minor, the bass note should be C unless the music says other wise which it doesn't.

yeah guys, i look at this tab for a long time, and finally just convinced myself to sit down and learn it, took a damn long time, and i had only played for 2 years at the time. Its worth it though, really fun to jam to.

ps. hope you have long fingers and a very strong pinky, :P

Lukeulavale March 23, 2004, 22:51

I was wondering if the neon tab is the only tab we are alowed to talk about. Because we could talk about oter john mayer things if anyone wants to. just put in a subject and we will discuss or argue or whatever.

Mikey D May 12, 2004, 3:12

Is there any benefit to fretting the low C with your thumb? I came up with easier fingerings using my pinky or some other finger instead of my thumb, i can't play the song as fast as john mayer yet though, will it still sound as good?

alaw June 18, 2004, 9:19

this song is crazy lol... its a toughy just takes time good luck guys, JOHN MAYER KICKS ASS!!! haha

commonsense February 16, 2007, 2:41

This song is played on a 7-string, I don't have one but I've seen John play it
