This is a great song and not easy to play but that's John
a brilliant song writer and guitartists. 
Eric Clapton did a copy of this,but not like John's.

tune the 6th string down to D
and put capo on 2nd fret.

It is important to note that the 2 is open string with capo on. 
Therefore 4 is actually 4th fret despite the capo.
