Joe Satriani Mind Storm Notes: Alright, since I can't find a tab anywhere for this, I'm going at it myself. However, since I'm sure I can't do this whole tab myself (as I have neither the skill or time), I'll post what I can, and hope others can add to it. Oh, and by the way, I'm almost certain it's played on a 7 string. Intro: |----------------------------------------------|----------------------------9tr10--- |-----------------2h3p2------------------2h3p2-|------------------------------------ |--4--4--4--4-4~~---------7--7--7--7-7~~-------|--4--4--4--4-4~~----7~~------------- |--4--4--4--4-4~~---------7--7--7--7-7~~-------|--4--4--4--4-4~~----7~~------------- |----------------------------------------------|------------------------------------ |----------------------------------------------|------------------------------------ Those two chords are basically repeated for a while with a certain riff thrown in that I can't figure out... and one that I can |----------------------------------------------------| |----------------------------------------------------| |--4--4--4--4-4~~-----------7--7--7--7-7~~-----------| |--4--4--4--4-4~~------------7--7--7--7-7~~----------| |-----------------4h5p4p0-------------------4h5p4p0--| |----------------------------------------------------| First theme: WHAT IS THAT EFFECT??? I love the sound, but I have no clue what it is -----------------------------------|---------------------------------------| -----------------------------------|---------------------------------------| --5s6--6--6------------------------|--5s6--6--6--9p6---6---6-6h7p6---------| ------------------------7-9--p7----|-----------------9-------------9-7--9--| -------------9-9~~--7-9---------9--|---------------------------------------| -----------------------------------|---------------------------------------| Second Theme: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------19~~--| --------------------------------19--17--19--15--17--19--17--15--17--19///--------| -12--14--16--16--18--19--19~~~---------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------18///--21///| --------------------------------19--17--19--15--17--19--17///--19///-------------| -12--14--16--16--18--19--19~~~---------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------| --22~~~----21~~~----19~~~---17~~~--| -----------------------------------| -----------------------------------| -----------------------------------| -----------------------------------| -----------------------------------| And now back to the same rhythm as before... then the solo then the interlude with the slides and muted strings and whatnot then the sweeps then a little solo then another theme then the intro again then the first theme again then the second theme again then back to the original rhythm thing again then the ending which is LIKE the same rhythm thing, but he plays some notes there that I'm not gonna bother to figure out, because I know he's playing them in chords, and I don't wanna have to figure out all those chords. Well, there you go, you have two themes, the main rhythm backing, and the structure. There isn't that much left to figure out... just all the hard parts lol. Have fun! jpoptabs@yahoo.com Garroad Ran

hey the rythym part you cant figure out might be the open string a, the 4th or 5th fret on a, 7th fret on a, 9th fret on d, then the 5th fret on d. each is double picked on the upbeat. hope that helps a little.

the first theme you cant figure out is joe strumming a B5 power chord on the A and D strings that is played with an open string low E to give it that extra bass, followed by the pull offs and the same chord technique only with an A5 power chord.
The effect r lookin for is a simple distotion combined with an wha-wha
the part after the 9-10 trill is not exactly how you have it. it goes: A 2 2 2 2
E 2 2 2 2 4h5p4p0
B 0 0 0 0
A 5 5 5 5
E 5 5 5 5 4h5p4p0. It's
B 3 3 3 3
played with heavy distortion
the part i jst posted didn't come out exactly right on the screen. sorry. hopefully u can still figure it out
