Artist: Jason Mraz
Album: Waiting for My Rocket to Come
SONG: Curbside Prophet; Track 5.
Label: Elektra

This is all my very own work. Yay. =).

This will be the very first tab OLGA can sport by Jason Mraz (11/07/02).
When I first heard this guy, I immediately recognized and admired his
talent - especially as a vocalist. He is, as far as I've seen, almost
completely unknown... at least here, in the Midwest. Well...
This is a great song, and I had fun tabbing it. I hope my posting will
cause others to stumble onto this guy, and spread the word. Good musicians
like this really should get recognition and become successful. Enjoy!

There are 3 parts to the song. They are repetitive and don't really
change anywhere in the song. Here they are; just pick them up and follow
the changes, and, more importantly, the beat. Standard tuning.

e-------------x-x-------------x-x-----------------------------R
B-------------x-x-------8-8\--x-x-----------------------------E
G-------4-4/--x-x-------7-7\--x-x------2-2h3-3-2-2------------P
D-------5-5/--x-x-------------x-x------3-3-3-3-3-3------------E
A-------------x-x-------------x-x-----------------------------A
E--3-3--------x-x--8-8--------x-x--1-1-----1-1-1-1------------T

Well... that's really all there is to it. It sounds cool adding little
licks and fills here and there, but that is the song. I'll post more
songs from this album soon, I'm sure... time permitting. If you have any
Q's or comments, I'm at zackparsons1984@hotmail.com. Happy playing.

Celebrate we will... life is short but sweet for certain. - David Matthews

Jessica August 1, 2003, 21:59

I love Jason Mraz's work, he is awesome ( especially Absolutely Zero ).

jesse collin August 18, 2003, 18:19

Jason Mraz rocks, he's like a sweet mix between Howie Day, and Jack Johnson. Good Stuff...

Chan September 12, 2003, 17:34

Jason has a great sound. Glad to
see he is getting some props.
Maybe BushWalla could be next?

Smitty September 17, 2003, 19:04

Mraz is alright, he can play guitar, but so can alot of people out there you've never heard of, what i'm sick of seeing is guys dropping their blues/jazz roots so they can write some stupid ass pop song that people who know nothing about music will like.

skyler j September 28, 2003, 0:58

mraz ia awsome. this is one of the better sites to find his tabs...so thanks alot. many people out there can play guitar, but his playing is very clever. and unlike everyone out there his voice is amazing. the way he puts them both together is why he's up and coming. i guess that makes some people bitter?

Jason November 20, 2003, 3:16

Yeah so shut up Smitty!

Keemosavy December 3, 2003, 1:25

I think this might be a correction in Tab but when you get to the C note on the Low E string the other two fingers are suppose to be on the G string 9th fret and the thrid finger on the B string 8th fret.
I am basing this on the bootleg of him from Homebase bar in Chitown.
Than again I could be wrong.

Evan December 11, 2003, 23:11

Smitty, you need to learn to realize excellent music when you hear it. Jason Mraz's fantastic singing and clever guitar playing blows away any young artist. (Amen Jason)! Smitty, you come here and look Mraz's tabs and put him down? Sickening I must say. Enjoy!

DuctTape February 5, 2004, 19:28

Ok, Jason Mraz is pretty good, so I have to give him some props for that, but he's not that good at guitar. Where he shines is as a lyricist and he rocks at vocals. His guitar playing provides an adequate beat and tune for his singing. Give credit where credit is due.

Random Insanity February 16, 2004, 3:12

Jason Mraz is so mad cool. He can play guitar, AND he can sing. Plus, he has really cool hair. But besides that, he is AWESOME.

Mary March 2, 2004, 19:48

Jason Mraz is Talented in everyway with his music. The way it all comes together is amazing, and you can only listen to his voice and watch his fingers move over his guitar. The song writing, his vocals, the guitar playing, it all fits perfectly. Very Talented. One of my favorite, Musicians, next to Dave Matthews and John Mayer. The tabs are great, so rock on!

Joel May 10, 2004, 5:22

Yeah, I think jason is an awsome guitar player....every 13 year old with a guitar can reproduce his awsomely hard songs exzactly how he does...he will be one of the greats

CJ August 29, 2004, 7:48

Wanna now what would be awesome John Mayer played guitar and Jason Mraz sang and they made an album or something toghether. PEACE

Tim September 1, 2004, 2:58

Smitty is musically imature

lk December 1, 2004, 3:10

Jason Mraz is by far the most talented vocalist I have heard in a long time. Most of his songs I have heard are live performances, and his voice sounds better than most studio recordings of artists. He is also talented in his playing. However, his writing is by far the best around. He's too clever for his own good!

josh January 7, 2005, 19:05

i dont like a lot of country but jason mraz is awesome. i love his curbside profit song and i love playing it thanks for the sweet tab.

malcolm January 12, 2005, 5:10

This is to Smitty, Jason Mraz didn't
drop his blues/jazz roots to write pop
songs; he doesn't have any blues or
jazz roots, he was a musical theater
major. He says on his DVD that sleep
all day was one of the first songs he
ever wrote.

wdctino November 12, 2005, 3:48

note to smitty and everyone else who puts mraz down, the first time he ever picked up a guitar was when he was 18! so hes been playing for only like 5 years! RAW TALENT IF U ASK ME.

rachel October 19, 2007, 19:52

wow i absolutely love this song! it's soo cute and so sweet i wish someone would sing it to me. one of my guy friends sang this song to a girl and i've fallen in love with him since he's really sweet! mraz is way talented, i looove his lyrics!
