Hey Julie
by Fountains of Wayne
This is our first tab; hopefully we've got it right, o
r at least close enough so you can work it out.
Enjoy playing this nice song.
INTRO:
D G D A
D G D A
VERSE 1:
D G D A
Working all day for a mean little man
D G D A
With a clip-on tie and a rub-on tan
Bm G A D
He's got me running round the office like a dog around a track
Bm G A D
But when I get back home you're always there to rub my back
CHORUS:
D G A D
Hey Julie, look what they're doing to me
Bm G A D
Tryin' to trip me up, tryin' to wear me down
D G A D
Julie I swear, it's so hard to bear it
Bm G A D
And I'd never make it through without you around
Bm G A D
And I'd never make it through without you around
VERSE 2: (same chords as verse 1)
Hours on the phone making pointless calls
I've got a desk full of paper that means nothing at all
Sometimes I catch myself staring into space
Counting down the hours 'til I get to see your face
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Em Bm
How did it come to be
C
That you and I must be
D
Far away from each other every day
Em Bm C
Why must I spend my time filling up my mind
D C
With facts and figures that never add up anyway
D G D A D
No they never add up anyway
INTERLUDE:
D G D A
D G D A
Bm G A D
Bm G A D
VERSE 3: (same chords as verses 1 & 2)
Working all day for a mean little guy
With a bad toupˇe and a soup-stained tie
He's got me running round the office like a gerbil on a wheel
He can tell me what to do but he can't tell me what to feel
CHORUS
3x last line and out, finish on D.
Again, hope you can use this to enjoy the song.
Please feel free to make corrections.
This is off the album 'Welcome Interstate Managers' which is
available in most record shops, online merchants, etc.
Have fun,
Chris and Luke
