NOTE: This is VERY rough and simplified. Think of it as the "fake book"
version. I am sure it's played in Open E though. There is a tab guitar
book covering all of the Crossroads box set (which I don't have) that I
know has this note for note. If you want the real thing, buy the book.

Sorry, Harlan, you tried your best, and I mean no harm here, this is played in open G and your lyrics for the first verse are incorrect."This is a mean old world, try and live it by yourself" is the correct form. Just to let you know
Actually, Harlan, you were
on the right track, seeing as
capoing on the third fret in
open E would be equivalent
to open G. Well done. The
song is, however, most
likely in open G, since
Duane didn't start using
open E as his primary
tuning until after the second
Allman Brothers album.
it is played in open G and if you are tring to play it like clapton capoing on the 3rd would make it impossible i mean way to go on the tab but if you want to make licks like clapton its going to need to be in open G
