The solo was transcribed by a friend, and seems to be almost exact. The
distortion Clapton used was due more to speakers that weren't up to it than
any distortion effects. Use the Neck pickup with the tone all the way back.

ok, i'm just learning tab, and i learned a basic riff for this song from a guitar book. it looks like this:

Yea great tab except that on the beginning when you come down on the fourth string, instead of the third fret I think it should be the fourth. I dunno I was just listening to the song and it sounded like that.

The opening riff is in the position The Man shows, but it starts on the G string and ends higher on the scale not lower, with a s7 on the G string to 6 on the B string and back to 7 on G. Then, when the riff moves up a step, it starts on the B string at 8, the walk down is 7, 6, 5 on the B string and the end is s8 on the B, to 6 on the high E. Then, back a step to the G string run. That's how you can get to the A chord for the middle section.
THE SONG IN KEY OF D JUST PLAY WALKING NOTES, ALONG WITH IT AND DO A QUICK STRING BEND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTRO. BUT I END UP USING THE BASS LINES FOR SOLOS IDEAS. SINCE, MY BRAIN PRECEIVING TO FIT THAT WAY TO MY FEEL OF THE SONG EVEN I KNOW ITS WRONG LOL. EVEN THOUGH I LEARNED IT THE RIGHT WAY IT SOUNDED GREAT THE SOLOS JUST DIDNT FEEL RIGHT. BUTS ITS MUSIC U CAN ALTER I FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT LOL
