Thought this may be of use to someone, I don't know how accurate it is but
it sounds ok to me.

The chords I use are:

	Em 02200x
	Cadd9 03200x
	G6 3200xx
D/F# 2000xx <- This probably should be 20023x or something but I'm lazy

Occasionally in the heavier parts I substitute Cadd9 for C/G (330210) for a
bit of variety.

The intro is something like:

e---------------------|-------------------
B-------0--00-00-000--|-----0--00-00-000--
G-------0--00-00-000--|-----0--00-00-000--
D---2-2-2--22-22-222--|-2-2-2--22-22-222--
A---2-2-2--22-22-222--|-3-3-3--33-33-333--
E---------------------|-------------------

e---------------------|-------------------
B---------------------|-------------------
G-------0--00-00-000--|-----0--00-00-000--
D-------0--00-00-000--|-----0--00-00-000--
A---2-2-2--22-22-222--|-0-0-0--00-00-000--
E---3-3-3--33-33-333--|-2-2-2--22-22-222--

The timing here is probably a bit rough but you get the general idea.

Then you kick your overdrive in and play the top 4 bass strings on each chord.

I think there is 2 sets of this played ending with a long Em
and then the verse. I tend to simulate the bass by playing softly on the
strings and then the guitar bits much louder, if you listen to the CD this
seems to be close to what they are doing

e----------------------|----------------------
B----------------0--0--|----------------0--0--
G----------------0--0--|----------------0--0--
D---2-2-2-2-2-2--2--2--|---2-2-2-2-2-2--2--2--
A---2-2-2-2-2-2--------|---3-3-3-3-3-3--------
E----------------------|----------------------
^ Let ring ^ Let ring

e----------------------|-----2----------
B----------------------|-------3--------
G----------------0--0--|---------2------ <- Unsure about this bit
D----------------0--0--|--0--------0----
A---2-2-2-2-2-2--2--2--|----------------
E---3-3-3-3-3-3--------|----------------

^The lead comes in about here

The lead riff is
e---7h8--5h7--3h5--2h3p2---------
B------------------------3-3-0---

The verse varies a bit but is more or less based on the above.
I haven't worked out the solo yet but seems to use two guitars one playing
a riff based on the lead riff above (well at least it starts like that)

e---7h8--5h7-7-7-7- Repeat

Or something like that and then the other guitar comes over the top.

Well thats about it, I did work out the little bass riff but I forget how
it goes though it is based around E open, E third, A 5th, A 3rd and A open.

Here are the lyrics (not mine)

Subject: CRD/LYR: Zombie, the cranberries

Zombie, The Cranberries
- -
Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaken

but you see, it's not me
it's not my family
in your head, in your head
they are fighting

- - - -
Chorus
- - - -
With their tanks, and their bombs,
and their bombs, and their guns
In your head, in your head they are cryin'
In your head, In your head
Zombie, etc.
What's in your head in your head, in your head
Zombie, etc.

Another mother's breakin'
heart is taking over
when the violence causes silence
we must be mistaken
it's the same old theme since 1916
in your head,
in your head they're still fightin'

Chorus

Any additions/corrections are welcome.

Hi!
Haven't been on rec.music.makers.guitar.tablature lately, so
I don't know if this has been done before, but here it is anyway
The intro is repeated once during the song, in the 'break'.
Needs to be played as 'clear' as possible, so turn them pedals
  off! :)

I worked this out last night, so if there are any mistakes, they're
mine. I'll have another go and get the definative tab later.

"Zombie", The Cranberries

Here I post some minor corrections to the main riff of this song.
Since this little gem plays a major role in the song, it may be worth
while considering. Here is the version as I figured it out from the CD
last night.

Main riff (Intro and Break)

e--7H8P7--5-7--3H5---2-3P2---------
B------------------5-------3-3P0--- The last pull-off is very slowly!
G----------------------------------
D----------------------------------
A----------------------------------
E----------------------------------

Notation: H (hammer-on)
          P (pull-off)

  Cheers,

  Dieter

When you play in overdrive, it's better that you play this:
0 ...003...533...2
0 003 533 2
0 005 753 2
2 225 755 4
2 223 535 4
0 303 533 2

I'm sorry, there's a little mistake, just move the part below 3 dots to the right

coffe March 4, 2003, 17:39

I'm really not comfortable with the last chord in this song, that is the one you refers to as D/F# 2000xx ... I would go for 244322! try it and tell me what you think..just write a new comment below this one.

Jan March 9, 2003, 15:46

Well, I don't know, there isn't so much difference in it, because you preferrably play on the first three strings... Sometimes it does sound a little better, but then it doesn't fit with the first chord (022000). I don't know, maybe you're right!

Nick March 17, 2003, 20:23

I think that a F# chord as you say is not preverable at the end of the song. I would go for a broken D/F# chord.

D/F# 200232

Arby March 21, 2003, 16:00

I actually play it
Em, C, G, D

as for the chords

maybe just cuz it suits my voice

yavuz April 17, 2003, 18:59

there are some mitake in the songs :))))

aldo rodrigo leal mtz. July 25, 2003, 3:48

for my it is the tabs correct. of zombie :
e --8-9-6-8-4-6-3-4-3--------
b --------------------4-4-1--

Jimi_H84 June 10, 2004, 23:21

well, i think it's right to play a D/F#. but it must be this chord:
e 2
b 3
G 2
D 0
A 0
E 2

also you can use an Dadd2/F# as needed. it sounds better than the stuff you wtote.

e 0
B 3
G 2
D 0
A 0
E 2

try it! these two chords are the best ones you can use!

ps: sorry for my english; i'm german!!!

see you,
Jimi_H84

Jimi_H84 June 10, 2004, 23:24

oh, i forgot.
for the intro: play instead of the C-Chord an C/G like this:

e 0
B 0
G 0
D 2
A 3
E 3

also play a little delay with the intro, it works greate.

see you
