Subject: re-submittion of The Three Bells

        The Three Bells
Hit #1 on Billboard in 1959 as recorded by The Browns (Jim Ed Maxine and
Bonnie) on RCA Records
Original French Words by Bert Reisfeld and music by Jean Villard
English words by Dick Manning. This is my version of this beautiful
song.
In the key of D 4/4 rhythm moderately slow

         The Three Bells
[Strum a D chord on guitar]

There's a [D] village hidden [G] deep in the [D] valley [[Strum chord
[G] Among the [D] pine trees [G] half [D] forlorn one time each
And [D] there on a sunny [F#mi] morning as noted on
Little [G] Jimmy [A7th] Brown was [D] born these four
                                                          lines]]
   Voices only
(bung, bung, bung, bung)
[G] All the chapel bells were ringing in the little village [D7th] town
And the songs that they were singing was for baby Jimmy [G] Brown
Then the little congregation [B7th] prayed for guidance from [C] above
[G] "Lead us not into temptation, [D7th] bless this hour of meditation"
Guide him with Eternal [G] Love

[strum a D chord on guitar]

There's a [D] village hidden [G] deep in the [D] valley [[same
[G] Beneath the [D] mountains [G] high [D] above as
And there, twenty years [F#mi] thereafter verse]]
Jimmy [G] was to [A7th] meet his [D] love

    [Voices only]
(Bung, bung, bung, bung)
[G] All the chapel bells were ringing, 'Twas a great day in his [D7th]
life
Cause the songs that they were singing was for Jimmy and his [G] wife
Then the little congregation [B7th] prayed for guidance from [C] above
[G] "Lead us not into temptation, [D7th] bless, oh Lord this
celebration"

[strum a D chord on guitar]

>From the [D] village hidden [G] deep in the [D] valley [[same as
[G] One rainy [D] morning [G] dark and [D] grey first
A soul winged it's way to [F#mi] heaven and
Jimmy [G] Brown [A7th] had passed [D] away second
                                                          verses]]

   voice only
(bung, bung, bung, bung)
[G] Just a lonely bell was ringing in the little valley [D7th] town
'twas farewell that it was singing to our little Jimmy [G] Brown
And the little congregation [B7th] prayed for guidance from [C] above
[G] "lead us not into temptation, [D7th] may his soul find the
salvation"
"Of thy great eternal [G] love".
