This is a track taken from Billy Bragg and The Blokes album England,
Half English. In my opinion it was the best track on the album with the scene
setting lyrics upheld by a gorgeous melody and an atmospheric backing track.
The haunting beauty was also retained when played live.
This is what I believe to be the chord sequence.
Please mail in any changes you believe need to be made.

G
Never saw a meaningful TV advert,
Em
I don't think shopping is a metaphor for life
G
Don't waste my time at the gym in the morning,
Em
Try to keep trim by living my life.
D C
Wanna feel the wind blowing in my hair,
D C Am
Wanna hear the waves crashing on the beach
I'm not seeking easy answers or inner peace
C G
I'm just looking for some relief.
I want to help to make the world better,
But I can't do it all on my own
Try to keep a lid on my disappointment,
'Cos cynicism's such a cop out I know.
(same as first verse)
Watch the shadows of cloud moving on the hill
Open my eyes and drink my fill
On those days that I feel dejected
I come up here for a bit of perspective.
(same as first chorus)
Instrumental (use chords G, Em, D, C, Am)
Gonna follow the path that climbs up through the trees
Walk along the cliff top and gaze out to sea
I feel free when I come up here
And if it's clear some days I see the point.
(same as first chorus)
