Tobacco Road

by Nashville Teens, Spooky Tooth, Bill Wyman and his Rythm Kings
(and more - i beleive its a very old song)

Tabbed By Luca Celano

lucacelano@hotmail.com

VERY cool intro

E|------10---------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------10-------------------12^--------------------------------------------|
G|--12^--------12^--10-----10---12^--10----------------------------------------|
D|-------------------12------------------12--10--12----------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Here are the words with some chords i found, but personaly i dont think they sound right,
i prefer the Bill Wyman/Albert Lee Version which uses

Csus somthing and Dsus somthing?

 e -3- e-5-
 B -3- B-5-
 G -5- G-7-
 D -5- D-7-
 A -3- A-5-
 E -3- E-5-

It goes Csus-Dsus then a line of the words, listen to the song and its easy

It's an old J. D. Loudermilk song. 1. I was born in a bunk. 2. Grew up in a dusty shack.

I was playing this was a C to a D chord at the beginning and it sound better to me? Anybody agree?

Paul November 18, 2003, 4:22

yeah howard I am hearing the root on d and banging out the flated 7th (c) then up to the 4th (g)

Yes, an older jam done by many people (groups) and grage bands at the time. The best rendition I ever heard, my opinion of course, was done by Rare Earth, on their album Rare Earth, last song side two. Give it a listen.
