This song is great. Here's a little FYI, the song was written by a Newfoundlander! In Newfoundland we always party in basements. We get a bit rowdy so we dont like to trash nice houses! ONe was u can tell is newfie is "i hear tell". Classic newfie dilict.

Hey Shane-O, you ain't got a clue what you're talking about. Gordie wrote that song ABOUT Newfoundlanders and based it on a Rudyard Kipling quote. Kipling said that Alberta had "All hell for a basement!" and he was desccribing the bubbling quagmire of the oil patch. Gordie wrote it for the hardworking Newfoundlanders that left their families to make money in Alberta.

i think the tab you have here sounds better then another version i have found online.
it's the 1st time i have seen this webpage. seen these msgs down below.Shane0,SEAN,CHUCK,MATT, found it kind of funny, figured i would add this little blip. here's a joke..a nice harmless newfie joke! How Do you Tell When you have a really fat CHICK? ....When You haul down her undies and her cunt is still in them. Nice to see how many newfs are around the world....

Actually, Shane-O and Sean are both wriong. Kipling wrote it specifically about Medicine Hat and the huge supplies of natural gas under the city at that time. Oil wasn't discovered in large quantities in Alberta for another 30 years.
