Below is a transcription for guitar of one of Bach's most
beautiful compositions. This guitar arrangement was made using the
original score for string orchestra. The sustained sound of
violins in the orchestra is what gives this piece its unique and
instantly recognizable coloring; the main goal of the present guitar
transcription has been to preserve this sound. In particular, the
arrangment was done in C major (not in the original D major) to use the
open string voicings as much as possible. Also, all of the polyphony has
been preserved making the sound richer and, at the same time, making the
piece rather technically involved. The timing is 4/4. Enjoy!

This is an amazing job of transcription. It is all you say it is in your description. I am now learning this excellent version to play for my Mom on Christmas. I'm taking a break from playing ( by this I mean attempting ) solos from king's x, extreme, and yngvie. For the sake of my wife's sanity... I'm playing the nylon for a bit more. I couldn't ask for more to work with than this. thanks again grace and peace, Jon

amazing transcription and its amazingly fun to play and learn. Because its an arranged from a quartet it never sounds right when your practicing, but once your hands get up to speed it *click*s, which is a wonderful moment.
