Title: Wave
Composer: Antonio Carlos Jobim
Transcribed by: Doug Nickerson

>From a video tape of guitarist Charlie Byrd playing
Bossa Nova and jazz pieces. Filmed in New Orleans for
public TV :
Live at "Bud's[?] Place."

Playing information. Many books show this piece in D
Major. Charlie Byrd played it in G, and I think G
works better for the
guitar for this song, letting you use some appealingly
guitaristic chords
and runs. He played Girl from Ipanema (Garota de
Ipanema) in G too.

This piece can be a good way to get your diminished
chords into gear.
Keep in mind that you can always move diminished
chords up an interval
of a minor third (three frets) and get the same
sound.

So in bar two you might try two beats of Ebdim7
followed by two beats of Cdim7. For example, move
choice (2) for the
Ebdim7 from the fifth fret up to the 8th fret.
