Where Were you
Alan Jackson
Tabbed By: Tyler Pritz (T_W_A_P@hotmail.com)

Verse:
C G C
Where were you when the world stop turning on that September day
C
Out in the yard with your wife and children
G C
Or working on some stage in L.A.
F C
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke
F C
Rising against that blue sky
F C
Did you shout out in anger, in fear for your neighbor
Am F G
Or did you just sit down and cry

C
Did you weep for the children who lost their dear loved ones
G C
And pray for the ones who don't know
C
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
    G C
And sob for the ones left below
        F C
Did you burst out in pride for the red, white and blue
        F C
And the heroes who died just doin' what they do
        F C
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
    Am F
And look at yourself and what really matters

Chorus:
F C
I'm just a singer of simple songs
     F C
I'm not a real political man
        F C
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I could
             Am F
Tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran
    F C
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
      F C
And I remember this from when I was young
F C
Faith, hope and love are some good things He gave us
G F
And the greatest is love

Verse:
Where were you when the world stop turning on that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Or driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you loved her
Did you dust off that Bible at home

Did you open your eyes, hope it never happened
And you close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Or speak to some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin'
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns

F C
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers
F C
Stand in line and give your own blood
F C
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Am F
Thank God you had somebody to love

Repeat Chorus

Just click on the print link, and it'll be printed in a printable way.
Worth the try.

Toni September 6, 2002, 20:37

you can copy & paste into a word doc and print from there, works fine and then you can save it as well, without it being a webpage...
Hope that helps

Gene April 24, 2003, 13:51

Does anyone have the TAB, so we can pick it?

Gary June 21, 2003, 13:42

You can pretty much pick it in the chord (Carter style) without really even having to move your fingers. Just listen to the sequence and you will see what I am talking about.

Branden September 13, 2003, 8:00

kelopini December 24, 2003, 4:11
